About This Item

(New York): Barlemir, 1974. Softcover. Near Fine. Advance galley proofs in the form of sewn signatures stamped "Reviewer's Galleys". Octavo. Modest soiling to first and last leaf, else near fine. Nicely Inscribed by the author: "Hi Folks! On a typical Silver Spring afternoon with special handling, I sign this book, again, to Burt Britton, who stole it from Strand, who bought it from a jaded book reviewer who got it from the publisher who is just about the dumbest book publisher in New York which is going down the drain (though I love it and it is still my Main Home). Yrs.Clarence Major May 6, 1976."
Britton worked at The Strand Bookstore and compiled a large collection of inscribed books ad author self-portraits. An important collection of poetry by this author, in an unusual format, and with a nice association.
