Oxford: Smith Elder, 1915. First Edition. Hard Cover. (London: Smith, Elder & Co., 1915). First UK Edition. vii + 364 pp., 8vo. Publisher's dark green, ribbed cloth with gilt titles to the spine and bottom edge un-trimmed. Foxing to the page block edges and the early/late pages of the book otherwise a bright and attractive VG+ copy with slight pushing at the head and tail of the spine. From the private library of Pember Boyle (stockbrokers) with their stamp to the front free end-paper. A nice copy of an uncommon economics text. NB: this is a true first edition from 1915 and NOT A MODERN REPRODUCTION. Edward Hilton Young started his career as assistant editor of The Economist before becoming City editor of the Morning Post and London correspondent of the New York Times financial supplement. Hilton Young entered Parliament as a Liberal MP in 1915 and became Financial Secretary to the Treasury in 1921. Scarce in first edition. Photographs/scans available upon request.
