Chicago: The Goldsmith Publishing Company, 1933. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Tan cloth with black lettering and pictorial stamping, pictorial dust jacket. 246pp, (6pp ads). Near fine/very good. Text block lightly, evenly age toned as usual; mildest of jacket edgewear. A superb, tight and sharp copy of the second title in the short-lived "Tahara Series" of four titles only, all issued the same year. Outstandingly bright and fresh jacket graphics depict a white man and three tribesmen in foreground peering through jungle growth into a river as four long canoes row past carrying spear-wielding warriors. Since the entire series was published the same year and perhaps simultaneously, it's likely that all four titles list the entire series titles on their front flaps -- thus this, and this publisher's practice of not identifying edition in any consistent manner, make it nearly impossible to determine priority. A killer, exceptionally handsome copy, in any case.
