This book is in very good condition. The book has minimal wear on the front, back, edges, and spine of the covers. The pages are crisp and white and there are no markings on the pages. There is no bumping or fraying, although the covers are somewhat bent.

In this torrid condition no one felt like exerting any unnecessary energy. But, at five-thirty we still gathered, as we did most every sunny day, at the icehouse on Big Joshua Creek. It had been in operation since 1927, when my grandfather set down roots in Comal County at the verge of the Hill Country. As the name implies, Granddad started out selling ice in big blocks, out of the two huge walk-in coolers in the back. Sometime in the late forties, Granddad gave up his Baptist ways, and began stocking Lone Star and Pearl beers together with the sodas and milk in the coolers...." - Chapter One from Take Me To Texas
