First edition hardcover (Appleton, 1898, 248 pages) in red cloth; black titles and pictorial on front cover, with gilt frame and decoration; issued without dust jacket; gilt spine-titles faded; issued without dust jacket; pages clean, tight, unmarked, just faintly yellowed; binding sound and square; rubbing at spine-ends, with 1/8-inch closed tear to cloth at bottom; very minor soil on covers; frontispiece separated from binding at bottom, otherwise firmly attached' 2-inch split to paper over back interior hinge, but hinge is firm and otherwise intact; on its way to you the same or next day in bubblewrap; email confirmation; standard mail takes 4-14 days; priority mail takes 2-5 days; international orders go by airmail (6-10 days).
