Edinburgh/London/Dublin: Printed By Ballantine And Company For Robert Cadell; Whittaker And Co.; And John Cumming, 1831. Finely Bound in Contemporary Full Leather. Gold Gilt Rules to Front and Back boards. Elaborately tooled spine designs, ruled in Gilt. Five Raised Gilt designed Bands. Leather Title and Volume labels. Additional blind design motifs to edges continued to inner Dentells. All three volumes light wear, and exceptional thus. All three sewn bindings extremely tight, and a very gently read set, if read at all. W.H. Lizars Frontispieces and Illustrated title pages with light foxing as per usual with the Steel Engravings, and does not advance further. Internals extremely clean and bright. Light dampstain to heel of volume two, confined to the preliminary and terminals and does not encroach into the text. Contemporary previous owner (1842) to flys, with woodcut bookplate and bookseller ticket "E. Kimpton...Bloomsbury" to pastedowns. As above, a seldom perused, seemingly shelved set. Conservatively, all Three Volumes VeryGood+ (see images).. First Edition, First Impression. Full-Leather/Sewn. Very Good+. Illus. by W.H. Lizars (Drawn & Engraved by). 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall. Oversized Safely, and Securely Packed.
