Description: [4], 417 pages, [4] leaves of plates : illustrations ; 20 cm. Twelve stories about the poor and wealthy people of the South before, during, and after the Civil War. Publisher's green cloth over boards, gilt and black lettering and decoration to spine and front cover. Book Condition: Spine is toned, with lettering dull; spine ends frayed. Front cover is quite handsome. Title page is loose and rear interior joint cracked. Else Fine. Binding is quite sound.
