This is a wonderfully illustrated edition of "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" by EDGAR ALLAN POE. 1933; Tudor Publishing Co.; New York. The book features both tipped-in color plates and black & white illustrations by Harry Clarke. There are 29 tales in all, including classics such as "A Descent into Maelstrom," "Ligeia," "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Murders in the Rue Morgue," "The Mask of the Red Death," "The Pit and the Pendulum," "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Gold Bug," "The Black Cat," "The Oblong Box"...and many more.

Tight binding. No cracks. No loose pages. The text pages are in terrific condition - clean with no writing, foxing, stains or tears found. Light soiling to the back cover; 1" cloth tear at the lower-left corner of the spine; scuffing along nearly the entirety of the right edge of the spine (with the exception of 3" at the bottom); cloth tears at corners; at the bottom-third of the spine are 2 horizontal cloth scratches. The tipped-in frontispiece should be attached at both of the top 2 corners, but is only attached at the top-right corner.
