Line, Ettlinger & Gladstone: p. 21, Karamzin 2., second entry.) xii, 262 pp. with one illustrated plate. 19th century leather backstrip with paper-covered boards. About Very Good with wear to boards along edges, rubbing, and strip of toning to front board; a few pencil marks on paste down, marginal dampstain to plate at p. 204., a few dog-eared pages. A rare collection of stories by a Russian author sometimes compared to Lawrence Sterne. One of the earliest Russian works to be translated into English, long before the late 19th century boom.
