About This Item
London: C. Hurst & Company, 1974. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good-. New Introduction by Helge Larsen. Translated from the Danish by the author. "The tales, which make up the main part of this book, (first published in 1875) are a mine of primary material, and Rink's description of the Eskimo's way of life, language, religion, social order, customs and laws is as valid today for West Greenland as when it was written. The volume includes reproductions of drawings by Eskimo artists." Orange hard cover with gilt titling on spine, the original title page is included and is subtitled: "with a Sketch of Their Habits, Religion, Language and Other Peculiarities," and is preceded by a fold-out black and white frontispiece, black and white illustrations throughout (including is a second fold-out illustration) 472 pages.
