The Hague: W. Van Hoeve, Ltd., ca. 1954. 4to, 12.25 x 9, 320 pages. Large hardcover in green cloth binding in excellent condition, embossed in gold. Dust jacket is intact, but worn (tears, primarily at the bottom edge). Remarkable album of 40's vintage photos. It consists of eight chapters: an over-view chapter and then chapters devoted of Sumatra, Borneo, Celebes, Moluccas, the Lesser Sunda Islands, East Java, and West Java. Each chapter opens with a map of the area and a brief narrative, followed by dozens of images, all with captions.
