Contemporary full polished tan calf prize binding with extensive gilt tooled decoration to the spine, black title label, gilt dentelles to edges. All edges marbled blue to match end papers. Binding fine with a little rubbing to edges and joints. Contents clean and tight, prize plate to the front paste-down, otherwise no inscriptions, paper clean and bright, minimal spotting to page edges. A superb copy that would make a fine gift..

Synopsis

Tanglewood Tales for Boys and Girls , published in1853, is a book by American author Nathaniel Hawthorne, a sequel to A Wonder-Book for Girls and Boys. It is a re-writing of well-known Greek myths in a volume for children.
