About This Item

New York: Scribner’s, 1935. First Edition; first printing; second state (correcting misprints); front endpapers and front jacket flap a little browned, but very good in a good to very good dust jacket with some wear and splitting at the folds; the price stamped on the front flap is in the smaller of the two sizes noted (no priority is established). It should be pointed out that the above mentioned state is often erroneously referred to as an “issue,” which would indicate, by definition, that it was not available until a later time, but this is specifically a “state,” a change made during the first printing, and, unless proved otherwise, distributed at the same time as the uncorrected copies. Here endeth the lesson.
