Tbilisi: Martakoch', 1925. Quarto (29 × 20.8 cm). Original pictorial wrappers using an illustration by Iurii Annenkov; 46, [1] pp. With ten illustrations (some full-page) by Annenkov. Wrappers lightly worn and soiled, rebacked and repaired (mounted on paper); internally very good. First translation into Armenian of Alexander Blok's famous 1918 long poem "The Twelve," a poetic response to the October Revolution. The item also includes a collection of other poems by Blok (1880-1921), a symbolist poet considered one of the greatest poets of the Russian Silver Age. This edition reproduces the acclaimed illustrations for the Russian edition by Iurii Annenkov. Published by the leftist publisher "Martakoch'" (The Struggle) in Tbilisi, Georgia (printed by "Tipografiia gazety 'Zaria Vostoka'"). Translated by Aghasi Vardanian (1891-1968) and with a preface by Pavel Makintsian (1884-1938). One of 1000 copies printed. As of February 2020, we cannot trace this edition via KVK or OCLC. We can only trace the copy at the Armenian National Library.
