About This Item
New York: The Vanguard Press, 1941. First edition. 8vo, 234pp. Publisher's green cloth stamped in black, top edge stained yellow, in illustrated jacket. Corners bumped, spine lightly cocked, some pushing at spine ends. Jacket shows some sunning to spine, soiling and rubbing to rear panel, light use at spine ends and corners. Very good.
British historian, Henry FitzGerald, better known as Gerald, Heard's (1889-1971) first and best mystery novel. Featuring Mr. Mycroft, implied to be Sherlock Holmes in retirement, A Taste For Honey was followed by Reply Paid, and The Notched Hairpin, in the decade following, both of which also featured the Sherlockian character.
