New York: Knopf, 1992. First American Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. A few minor wrinkles to the edge extremities of dust jacket; otherwise, Fine. Book is in fine condition and has never been read: pages are clean and bright. This first printing trade edition is signed on the title page by the author. Peter Carey is an Australian novelist and short story writer. He is one of only two writers, the other being South African born J. M. Coetzee, to have won the Booker Prize twice. In May 2008 he was also nominated for the "Best of the Booker Prize". He has also won the Miles Franklin Award three times, The Commonwealth Writers Prize twice, and many other awards.
Synopsis
Peter Carey is the author of seven novels including the Booker Prize-winning Oscar and Lucinda . He has also written a book of short stories ( The Fat Man in History ) and a children’s book ( The Big Bazoohley ). Born in Australia in 1943, he has lived in New York City for ten years, with his wife and their two sons.
