Whitcombe and Tombs, 1930. First Edition. A rare collection of Australian early childhood readers written for children aged six. All are in the delicate original wrappers, being an excellent cache of early Australian ephemeral educational publishing. Titles are Ben Bunny's Holiday, Foolish Winkie, Picnic Fun, Six Little Bears, A Run for Mr Rat, An Imp at School, Shopping, What Am I, The Little Red Van and Ruff and Mr Rat. Ten staple bound pamphlets measuring 135 x185 mm, 8 pages each with colour illustration, bound in a vibrant array of illustrated covers depicting two laughing kookaburras, very fine copies.
