ELEVEN CHILDHOOD FAVORITE STORIES SELECTED BY TENGGREN
Beautifully illustrated by the artist, Gustaf Tenggren in his unique & colorful style.
This Giant Golden features Heidi, Robin Hood, Arabian Nights, Rip Van Winkle, Treasure Island, Uncle Remus, Dr. Dolittle, Rootabaga Stories, Gulliver's Travels, and Robinson Crusoe. Sometimes the entire story is told but mostly it is the "most dramatic or amusing parts that are selected." The cover is a pictorial paper over bds - full of colorful characters as are the lovely eps. The un-clipped dj has ad at bottom of back flap to "Buy U.S. War Stamps and Bonds" (as it is 1944). The book has rub at corners & edges, spine tips show a bit more wear,
the edges of spine have cracked in spots and have been repaired with archival glue, there is some toning on the eps, o/w Good+ copy (internally VG). The dj has some chips at the edges & spine tips, creases, and a closed tear o/w G+.
Tenggren is the illustrator of "Pokey Little Puppy" and many other Little Golden Books.
