Among her achievements, she reached 67 Grand Slam finals and won 35 titles. As a child, she suffered from osteomyelitis, which permanently impaired her right leg. She began playing tennis at age 10. Lutterworth, 1956. First British Edition. Hardcover. Good. Hardback with dustwrapper, some rubbing and wear to wrapper, some fading to spine but titles still quite legible. Small tears to top and bottom of spine and edges of wrapper with a small area of loss to top edge of spine and bottom corner of front wrap. Has been internally reinforced with special non acidic archive tape and is now in a clear removable protective sleeve. Price clipped, no inscriptions, illustrated, bright and clean internally with very little wear. Heavy book, will require additional postage outside the UK.
