Macmillan,, [1940]. 8vo., Fourth Impression, with coloured portrait frontispiece; blue cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy. Published three months after the first edition. Loving biography of Holtby by her close friend Vera Brittain. A wide-ranging writer and novelist, Holtby is now probably best remembered for 'South Riding'. Includes accounts of Holtby and Brittain revisiting the WWI battlefield areas in which they both served. ALL EARLY PRINTINGS ARE SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
