Texasville by MCMURTRY, LARRY - 1987

New York: Simon & Schuster, 1987. First Edition, First Printing of the sequel novel to The Last Picture Show. A remarkable copy which belonged to the credited film script supervisor on the set of the motion picture adaptation of Texasville. The book is signed by Larry McMurtry and 16 members of the film’s cast, a number of which were reprising the character roles they played in the earlier movie, The Last Picture Show. Signed and inscribed with often long warm inscriptions by Cybill Shepherd, Jeff Bridges, Tim Bottoms, Cloris Leachman, Randy Quaid, Eileen Brennan, Annie Potts, Angie Bolling, Kay Pering, William McNamara, and others. The novel, itself, is dedicated in print by McMurtry to Cybill Shepherd. On her printed dedication page Shepherd has written: “Love to Karen, Cybill, PS. Thanks for the precious encouragement.” This script supervisors work includes such notable films as Casino, Pearl Harbor, The Rock, Rising Sun, K-Pax, I Heart Huckabees, Transformers, Pirates of the Carribbean: At World’s End, Silver Linings Playbook, etc. She has worked with such significant directors as John Huston, Martin Scorsese, Michael Bay, David O. Russell, Peter Bogdanovich, Kevin Costner, William Friedkin, Wolfgang Petersen, Robert Benton, Sam Raimi, etc.
