Brussels, Belgium: Vromant & Co., 1926. First edition, 1926. This is the edition in English (also published in French). Externally worn but internally very good. Illustrated throughout with stunning black and white photographs of statuary and ruins, and published during the early 20th century period of fascination with Egyptian history, shortly after the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Large book, about 13" x 10" blue cloth lettered and decorated in gilt, 362 pages plus colophon. Also includes four original black and white photographs of the ruins at Thebes (now Luxor) laid in loosely at the front. Covers lightly rubbed with additioanl rubbing to the extremities, 1.5" closed tear to spine head, 2" repaired closed tear to front edge of spine foot, good hinges, sound text block, front free endpaper and preliminary blank stuck together a little at the inner margin, page a bit age-yellowed but clean, name and date with location of Luxor in pencil at top of preliminary blank, no other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. Folio - 12" - 15" Tall.
