London: Rogan House. Near Fine/ . 1997. . Trade Paperback. 0952954036 310 pages illustrated with some black and white matte photographs A NEAR FINE TRADE PAPERBACK, the only flaw is a crease down the middle of the front cover and the first few pages, otherwise it looks like new, bright, clean and solid bindiing. This is the 1997 British first paperback edition , published by Rogan House. Rogan had permission to publish this in London from Quarry Press in Toronto, who originally published the book that same year. In 1967 the band Buffalo Springfield, made up of Bruce Palmer, Dewey Martin, & Neil Young, all from Canada ; as well as Stephen Stills, Richie Furay, & Jim Messina, captured the mood of a generation railing against the establishment and went on be revered as one of the most influential groups in the history of rock music. Hailed as the quintessential late 1960s California band, Buffalo Springfield spawned several rock music genres, including folk rock and country rock, with no lesser talents than the Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers & The Eagles openly acknowledging the influence of the Springfield on their own sound. The direct Springfield lineage includes the groups Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young ~ Poco ~ Loggins & Messina ~ The Southern Hillman Furay Band ~ Neil Young & Crazy Horse ~ Medicine Ball and more. Told from the eye-witness perspective of founding band member Richie Furay to well-known rock historian John Einarson, this book is more than the story of an influential & inspirational group, it is the story of North American pop culture & politics in the 1960s and 1970s. .
