Just a trace of wear, barely detectable to the book, and some light scratches to the rear panel of the dust jacket. 144 pages with Index to Artworks and Artifacts and Index to Makers. Introductory essay by Fred A. Myers (Director of the Gilcrease Museum at publication), who has also signed the book on the title page. Also contributing text for accompanying artwork are Anne Morand, Daniel M. McPike, Sarah Erwin, and Thomas C. Brayshaw. This book presents quality reproductions of 88 of the most important works in the Tulsa, Oklahoma museum, including the art of George Catlin, Alfred Jacob Miller, Thomas Moran, Frederic Remington, and more--art that shaped America and tells the story of man on the North American continent..
