Fine, light evidence of a now absent gift tag front free endpaper; in very good price clipped dust jacket with a short closed tear upper right front panel and a bit of light solining rear panel. Still possibly the scarcest later 20th century Titanic- related books, a reissue of the extremely rare original 1912 edition. With the original introduction by Sir Howard Plunkett and a new foreword for this edition by Edward S. Kamuda. Biography of Thomas Andrews (1873-1912), an Ulsterman who rose from a common worker in a shipbuilding firm to managing director of that firm, Harlan and Wolff of Belfast. In 1907, he undertook the task of overseeing the plans for three new ocean liners for the White Star Line: RMS Olympic, RMS Britannic and RMS Titanic.
