About This Item

This is an antique, leather-bound copy of "THE TOKEN" - A Christmas and New Year's Present. 1831; Gray and Bowen; Boston. Edited by S.G. Goodrich. Illustrated with 11 full-page engravings. Gilt all edges. The book contains poems and stories of fiction and non-fiction from a variety of contributors - here are a few examples (please see the photos for the complete list of contents):

* The Indian's Burial of His Child
* The Blind Mother

Condition:
Some rubbing of the leather covers; light corner wear; small, dark stain at the top edge of the spine. Tight binding. Crack at the front of the book between the frontispiece portrait and opposing half title page. The half title page and title page are attached at the top half but separated from the spine at the bottom half. The pages are mostly clean with no writing, tears or stains found; some sporadic light foxing (though heavier on the illustrated plates). Bright gilt on all edges of the text block.
