The title is taken from an account of the university gown of J.R.R. Tolkien sold by Gekoski. A further chapter is regarding T.E. Lawrence and Seven Pillars in which we may not all agree with Gekoski's views but they are fun reading. 240pp. A must read for the bibliophile or bookseller. A handsome little production with illustrated endpapers..
