About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, n.y.. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Pale green cloth with black-bordered brown letters, pictorial dust jacket. 206pp, (4pp ads). Frontispiece, full-page plates, pictorial endpapers. Near fine/very good. Faint jacket edgewear only. Superb, tight later printing of the first title (published 1915) in the 18-volume "Tom Slade Series" (1915-29), illustrated with scenes from the 1915 silent film "The Adventures of a Boy Scout." Undated, but jacket verso and ad at rear both list up to 14th title ("Tom Slade at Bear Mountain"), published in 1925 -- so this and the 1925 ownership signature on half-title page date this copy. An outstandingly bright, handsome copy.
