Stratford-upon-Avon: Shakespeare Head Press,, 1923. Deluxe signed edition Signed limited edition, number 26 of 106 copies signed by the illustrator Albert Rutherston and the writer of the introduction Harley Granville-Barker. A further 500 unsigned trade copies were also issued. The text is taken from the First Folio of Shakespeare, with some orthographic modernization. A very attractive production. Quarto. Original vellum by Zaehnsdorf, spine lettered in gilt, covers richly panelled and decorated in gilt and blind, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. With the original card folding case. With 5 colour plates by Albert Rutherston and line blocks by Emery Walker; printed on Batchelor's Kelmscott handmade paper. Light wear to case. A fine copy.
