Near Fine copy in dust jacket with light edgewear, especially at corners and faded spine (as usual). Harvey Andrew Russell was raised on the Triunfo Ranch (a part of the old Conejo Grant) and with his brothers Hubbard and Joseph operated a number of ranches throughout California, including San Carlos Ranch in Carmel Valley. Prominent statewide, Russell served as a director of both the California Cattlemen's Association and the American National Cattlemen's Association and was a recognized authority on wild grasses used for cattle feed.
