A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm with minor wear at the spine tips, the contents with the publisher's 'file copy' stamp to the front pastedown and half title, and shelf number in manuscript are otherwise clean throughout. Photographic illustrated endpapers. Complete with the rubbed and nick dustwrapper with the faint 'file copy' stamp to the rear panel. Not price-clipped (42/- net to the front flap). Provenance: From the archive of the publisher Victor Gollancz. A collection of first hand accounts of those evacuated as children during the Second World War. B. S.
