London: Chatto and Windus, 1880. Second edition. Hardcover. Very Good +. A Tramp Abroad is a 2 volume book which is in the original cloth. Mark Twain A Tramp Abroad is in the original binding which is green with black decorations to the front boards, back boards and to the spines, with gilt lettering to the spines. Volume 1 is in Very Good condition with corner knocks, knocks to the top and bottom of the spine and light marks. Volume 2 is in the same condition. Volume 1 has 328 numbered pages, edges untrimmed, with blue floral endpapers on a white background, with a frontispiece illustration of Mark Twain smoking a pipe beneath which is a facsimile signature of Mark Twain. The pages are in overall Very Good condition with a name in a neat hand applied to the top of the Title Page from a previous owner. Volume 2 has 304 numbered pages plus 32 pages of advertisements to the end of the book. The endpapers are also of a blue floral design on a white background. In Volume 2 pasted onto the page opposite the Title Page is a contemporary newspaper article of Mark Twains famous speech in German given at Vienna on 31st October 1897. The title of the newspaper article is Mark Twains Great Achievement Speaks in German at Vienna and reads (in part): Mark Twain last night received a splendid ovation from the literary world of Vienna at a festkneipe, a sort of free and easy banquet given by the Concordia Association of Writers and Journalists. It was during Mark Twains tour of Europe that it was misreported that he had died to which an amused Mark Twain famously quoted as saying: The report of my death was an exaggeration. As a result of the article there is light offsetting to the Title Page. But, this is an important and rare Mark Twain article from the time. All other pages are in Very Good condition.

In Lettin It All Hang Out, part autobiography, part how-to manual, superstar RuPaul comes out and comes clean with the full story of his remarkable rise and rise. Born to a mother who was a "hot firecracker of a woman," RuPaul Andre Charles talks about her powerful influence and of his life growing up in a house full of women. He tells the story of his difficult but loving childhood, his early awareness of "being different," and takes us on a wild ride highlighting his various drag personae over the years in Atlanta, New York City, and eventually all over the world.RuPaul also reveals his secrets as the apotheosis of the nineties' glamour girl: how to work a wig, how to get sparkling white teeth, how to work the camera and how to get the camera to work for you, the essential items every drag queen must have in her purse, and how to achieve the fiercest tuck this side of the Mason-Dixon line. RuPaul also lets us behind his persona to show his fans that there is more to him than the paint and the…

New York, Grove Press, 2022, trade paperback, 272 pp, Advance Uncorrected Proof (ARC), New. Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Cohen explores themes that would permeate his later work, from shame and unworthiness to sexual desire in all its sacred and profane dimensions to longing, whether for love, family, freedom, or transcendence.
