PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED TO IAN BROOMAN AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR BASHIR QURESHI, on front endpaper. Inscription reads, 'To Ian Brooman/With best wishes/Bashir Qureshi/8 April, 1989 (RCGP Spring/Meeting 1989/at Brighton)'. These two gentlemen attended the same meeting of the Royal College Of General Practitioners. In 2001 Ian Brooman was attacked and stabbed by a mentally-ill patient who thought that the drugs he had been prescribed were turning him into a woman. In 2012 Bashir Qureshi (1959-2012) died mysterously at the age of 54 at Sakland, Pakistan. He had served as the leader of Jeay Sindh Quami Mahaz (JSQM), a Sindi Nationalist movement.
