XLib stamp on title page. Front fly leaves loose. 12mo. 175 mm. Original leather binding, very worn. Front board detached. Spine perished. Title continues: "To Which Is Prefixed, The Life Of The Author." "James Meikle was a Scottish doctor who served on the man-o'-war Portland, on duty off the Briish coast and in the Mediterranean. He was intensly religious and even taught himself Hebrew while at sea. The book is the third of four published posthumously in aid of his widow.
