London: G. G. and J. Robinson, 1796-1797. First Edition in English. Hardcover. Text very clean and fresh. Light edgewear to binding, joints partly split but covers tight. Very Good. Two quarto (8-1/4" x 10-1/2") volumes in contemporary calf with gilt rules and gilt-lettered black morocco spine labels, one lacking from the first volume; half-title page present in the second volume only, which lacks a title page; directions to binder leaf in first volume. Illustrated with a large engraved folding map of Italy after F.D. Sotzman, 19 folding engraved plates, including 7 after Piranesi, and 7 pages of engraved music.
