About This Item
Buenos Aires: M Biedma y Hijo, 1907. 3/4 Leather. Very Good. Rare travel log of the world by an important Argentinian lawyer and friend of the Argentinian President Julio A. Roca who served as President for two separate terms. He was a close friend and was involved politically in Argentina having written political books on the United States. Aldao was also a friend of Jose Marti who often recalled their friendship once he had left Argentina. Aldao has signed and inscribed this copy to "General Julio A. Roca" after his second term as President. The book offers a first hand detailed account of many excursions throughout the world made by Aldao himself. It is bound in three quarters leather which shows moderate wear at the corners and light wear to the front hinge. The rest of the boards are beautifully marbled and are clean and tight. The spine has five raised bands with four compartments containing gilt decoration while the other two have the author's name and the book title. The page edges show very slight foxing but the interior does not show foxing beyond a few random marks. The interior of the book is clean and pages are crisp and unmarked. The binding is very tight. A wonderful copy of this book and a nice association. 405pp Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 2 lbs 0 oz. Category: Spanish Language; Antiquarian & Rare; Signed by Author. Inventory No: 017651.
