A solid copy of this edition of reprints of 12 plates by McBey, who was one of the more influential figures of the rise of etchings in the early 20th Century. The pages on this copy are moderately foxed; foxing does not affect the rectos of the tipped-in plates, though a few have slightly visible stains on the versos.
Taped to the front free endpaper is a typed letter, signed, from McBey to Roi Partridge at Mills College from 1941 talking about a meeting while McBey was visiting the San Francisco area. Laid in are also three handwritten letters from McBey's wife Marguerite to Partridge and his wife (his third wife, May Ellen Fisher) from 1941 and 1943, talking about photography, their visits, and potential future visits. Also included is a four-page prospectus for the Minton, Balch edition of The Etchings of James McBey by Malcolm C. Signed dedication (all in caps) by the author on title page: "To Ralph and Jane Two of the most delightful and charming persons that I have had the good fortune to meet. And with sincere admiration for Jane as an artist! Her paintings are artistic gems -" Book dimensions: 8 x 8.5". Black and white reproductions of Cooper's paintings and drawings throughout the book. Chapters on the character of the city land materials and techniques. Dj is slightly worn with some spotting and minor tears along edges. Dj clipped at lower front inset.

Stated first edtition, first printing on publication page. Book is in virtually new condition.

This book and the dj are like new. It is about the life and works of Venezuela artist /sculptor Jesus Rafael Soto. It is a limited first edition of 1,000 copies. Signed and dates with a short inscription on the title page. Text is entirely in Spanish. It contains more than 60 high quality, full page color plates of Soto's works.
