Two volumes. 8vo (8 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches), pages: xxxix:(1):390 & xxxi:384:188(appendix), plus substantial unpaginated index. Recent quarter mottled tan calf, spines with raised bands and crimson lettering pieces. Browning to foremargin of title to volume 1, contemporary signature on front fly. Generally very good indeed both internally and externally. The very rare 1st edition. The 2nd edition, in 2 volumes, was published in1808; the 3rd edition, in 3 volumes, in 1814.
