Slim octavo (21.5cm); printed wrappers, stapled; 16pp. Inscribed by Farrell to New York collector Norman Unger at the upper left corner of front wrapper. Some trivial wear, with minute loss to lower right corner of front wrapper; Near Fine. The author's "statement against dictatorship of or over the proletariat, and offering a democratic change for social progress." Delivered as a speech at the Grand Amphitheatre of the Sorbonne, April 30, 1949, on the occasion of the "International Day of Resistance to Dictatorship and War.
