New York: Appleton-Century-Crofts 1953. (Hardcover) 1375pp. Very good plus, no dust jacket. Green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and a gilt device on the front cover. A previous owner's name ion the front endpaper and minor pencil markings in the text. "Tudor Poetry and Prose is the result of bringing together in a single volume the material on sixteenth-century English writers that was included in two books already published: (1) Hebel and Hudson's Poetry of the English Renaissance, first issued by F.S. Crofts and Co in 1929; and (2) Hebel, Hudson, Johnson, and Green's Prose of the English Renaissance (primarily the work of Professor Johnson), issued by Appleton-Century-Crofts, Inc of 1952" - from the Preface.
