London: Longmans, Green, 1869 First edition. Hardcover book . Original blue cloth lettered in gilt to spine and front, with blind-stamped borders, on bevelled boards. HB. xix, 296pp. Pale yellow endpapers. Subjects include the Phoenecians, Greeks, Celts, and American peoples. With decorative engraved chapter headings and tailpieces. A Good copy. Gilt on coves is bright ,cloth is slightly dull with rubbed edges. The pages are mostly very good though the binding is slightly slack and one leaf of preface detached (present). Old light stains at back endpapers and slightly to front endpapers. Nice 1870 gift inscription on margin of title page. Pictures available.
