Folio, 53 x 40 cm. 23 (of 24) large mounted color plates with lettered tissue guards. Limited edition, copy 452 of 500 (of 50 copies reserved for America), signed by Detmold. Plate size, 40 x 26.5 cm., plate margins, five centimeters. A few of the mount lightly soiled, tear to one tissue guard repaired with archival tape on verso. Portfolio with small stain front cover bottom, moderate extremity wear, lacks original cloth ties. His meticulously finished images depicting animals and plants have an extraordinary understanding within fantasy settings of architecture and landscape.
