London: Macmillan & Co Limited, 1900. Blue Boards. Very Good Minus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" Large. 263pp ; 4 pp of adverts. An early impression of this book. Gilt embossed lettering to the spine with a gilt embossed vignette to the front board. Slightest of sunning to the spine of the book. Light rubbing to the head and tail of the spine. Two corners lightly bumped. A 2 mm hole to the spine along the rear of the spine strip halfway down the spine, not penetrating through the spine. Soiling to the rear board. The book has slight foxing to the end papers. Neat ink inscription to the half title page. The book has been illustrated with four full page illustrations including a frontispiece, although the one opposite page 14 is missing. Internally clean and tight, ligth spine lean. A very good copy.
