Fine copy of a study of medieval city-communes by Russian-Italian historian Nikolaj Ottokar (1884 - 1957). Printed by count Samuel Tyszkiewicz (1889 - 1954) at his private press in established in Florence in 1928. Limited to one hundred copies printed with Nicolas Cochin types on the paper made for the press, this is no. 51. At the end a list of books printed at the press. Stamperia Polacca 14.
