This book covers the early part of WWII (42-43) on the east coast of the USA and the Caribbean when Hitler and ADM Doenitz' submarines ran at free will attacking any and all shipping up and down the coast- especially tankers. The book brings out how unprepared the US was for submarine/convoy warfare but how quickly they learned and ultimately decimated the German fleets that ran up and down the coast.
