Rebound in rich blue leather with gilt lettering and raised bands to spine; Gilt decoration to spine and boards. Binding displays some wear along hinges and eges. Marbled endpapers with some discolouring. Top edge of textblock is gilt with other edges uncut. Pages are very clean throughout with a hint of yellowing. This copy was bound excluding the title page and half-title page though it does contain the Colophon page at rear which states the printings as well as limitation page. An elegant copy. Early copies of Ulysses are scarce today as the title was commonly destroyed by the British and American authorities due to containing "obscenities". The removal of the title page was probably to allow the book to be smuggled into the United States during this time. The text was likely rebound afterwards. . Good. 1922. 1st ed, 2nd print, limited.
