Scarce highly detailed nautical chart with soundings of Long Island Sound, extending from Manhattan and Jersey City along the Long Island coast as far as Lloyd Neck, with a table listing lighthouses. These important "Lights" are those from the Statue of Liberty out to Eaton's Neck. Includes the famous "Execution Rocks" light, the 60 foot structure in the middle of the Sound, built in 1850 and named for its Revolutionary War use as an execution spot by British troops. From the Connecticut State Atlas of 1893. 29 1/2 x 19 1/4". Printed at upper right outside border is the number 15. Damp stain at right margin, not affecting the printed area; original center fold flattened with short split. Publication Reference: Phillips, 1476; LeGear.
