About This Item

1775 RARE & ENORMOUS Family BIBLE King James English Illustrated Maps Southwell

A rare, mid-18th-century Family Bible published by Cooke in London. Starting in 1765, this family Bible was published in parts and intended to be distributed throughout Ireland, Scotland, England, and the Americas. Curiously, Rev. Henry Southwell paid Cooke a large sum just to get his name on the title. This undated Bible is complete in one tome, as published, and includes over 100 illustrated engravings of portraits and Bible scenes.
