Adorned with Searle's humorous comic drawings. This amusing work on America has been written, as stated to the preface 'by a man who has never been there in his life'. Atkinson was a journalist, novelist and playwright he is probably best remembered for his collaborative works with Ronald Searle. Ronald Searle was a British artist and satirical cartoon artist. He created the famous St Trinian's School and collaborated with Geoffrey Willans on the Molesworth series. Searle received many critical recognition for his work especially in America. He won the National Cartoonists Society's Advertising and Illustration Award in 1959 and 1965, The Reuben Award in 1960 and many more. Condition: In the original full cloth binding. Held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with light bumping to the head and tail of spine. Spine has faded slightly. Dustwrapper is chipped to the head of spine resulting in a small loss. Bumping to the tail of spine and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed in a Very Good Indeed dustwrapper.
