The poem criticizes those who focus on money and religion, and glorifies the life of a wanderer. Published by an Association for the Promotion of Graphic Art, with woodcuts by Flemish painter and illustrator Nicolas Eekman, and woocut text and decorative paper by graphic artist Fokko Mees, an elegant example of the Dutch book arts at the beginning of the Great Depression.
